Magic herbs how to use......
I see the Wise Woman. She carries a blanket of compassion. She wears a robe of wisdom. From her shoulders, a mantle of power flows. She ties the threads of our lives together. I see the Wise Woman. And she sees me.
Herbal leaves are important, but so are the roots and flowers and the fruits. In fact, everything that occurs in nature helps us to feel good and if there are blockages or illnesses, to look at them with love and have them resolved.
In this blog I have described some ways where you can use herbs, flowers and roots, only in which I have experience in my own life where they help me.
Some things I have used because the information about them has been passed on by my family but there are also things that I just picked up on "feel" and that did this for me.
The latter is something I do the most... just feel in nature what you need. Now it is useful that you have already mastered this "feeling of knowing".
Herbs have been used for centuries as beneficial and medicinal agents. You can use them in many different ways. With an herbal tea, (is easiest) with a compress, a tincture, as a steam bath or as a (foot) bath or by burning herbs.
Tea: put water before boiling in a pot or bowl, let the tea steep in the water, then pour into a bowl or glass with a sieve.
An herbal tea with medicinal reasons does not always have to be dirty and can be quite tasty. But even with a 'tasty' tea you have to take into account the effect of the herbs you use. So it is not wise to take an energizing herb before going to sleep.
Tip: Witch's tea: Spicy brew according to an ancient Wicca recipe. Black tea, cinnamon, ginger, apple, cardamom and cloves
Compress: see the above as tea, but then do not pour the tea but lie a cloth in the water and let the herbal tea cool down. Once it has cooled sufficiently, wring out the cloth to get most of the water out, then place the cloth where it is needed.
If it is an open injury, strain the water before putting the cloth in. Let it soak longer with the herbs before removing the cloth.
Tincture The big advantage of making a tincture from herbs is that you can keep it for a long time. A tincture has a high alcohol percentage and can therefore be kept for at least 3 to 5 years. According to our teacher, you can keep it almost indefinitely, although the strength may eventually decrease. To make a tincture you need alcohol, such as grain gin or vodka. Preferably an alcohol percentage of about 40%.
Take a clean jar and clean it even more by running a paper towel with some alcohol through the inside. Do the same with the lid. Then collect the herbs and cut or cut them into small pieces. With flowers or leaves you can put them in your pot, you have to clean the roots first. Always let them dry first, because you add the herbs as dry as possible to the alcohol, so as not to dilute it
Then pour some alcohol over the herbs, so that they are just submerged.
Keep the following ratio:
1 part fresh herbs to 3 parts alcohol / 1 part dried herbs to 5 parts alcohol.
Lid on the jar and shake well and put away for at least 1 week Shake well for the first few days. Unlike herbal oil, a tincture should not be in sunlight. Therefore keep the tinctures in a dark cupboard
Steam bath: You can make a steam bath for your face if it's something for your skin or for your respiratory system, but you can also make a steam bath for your vagina.
Take a bowl, pour hot water into it (of course very careful not to burn yourself) then add the herbs, let it cool for a while and then or a towel around your head so that the bowl and your face are closed off from the outside air and then breathe easy . At your vaginal steam bath you put on a long skirt or tie a cloth around. Without underwear you stand above the scale, squat or sit on the edge of a stool and then again: relax!!
(Foot) bath: Put warm water in a tub or in the bath and add the herbs. Now go with your feet or your body in the water and relax.....
To burn
Burning dried herbs is often done in rituals that mainly use the energetic properties of herbs.
